Local Girl Scouts elect new Board of Directors members at annual meeting Oakland Park, FL --- The Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. (GSBC) elected 13 individuals to the organization’s Board of Directors at their Annual Meeting, held on May 22, 2002.
The newly elected Members-At-Large include (term 2002-2004): Cynthia (Cindi) Bossart, VMD – Veterinarian, Fort Lauderdale Animal Hospital; Rhonda Calhoun – City Commissioner, City of Coral Springs; Meike LeMieux – Software Administrator, Precision Resource Florida Division; Debra Lietzke – Curriculum Supervisor, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Visually Impaired Programs for the Broward County Schools; Charles Michelson – Architect/Principal, Saltz Michelson Architects; Emily O’Neill – Business Focus Supervisor-Advertising, Sun-Sentinel; and Abel Pena – Owner/President, Mad Science of South Florida, a science program provider.
The newly elected Girl Scout Area Association Chairs include (term 2002-2004) Ellouise Hall (Teacher, Broward County Public School System) and Gail Lunsford (retired).
Non-voting Girl Members, elected for a one-year term (2002-2003) include: Ruth Burney (age 16, Stranahan HS); Chantal Coutain (age 15, Dillard HS); Amanda Flutie (age 14, Gloria Dei Lutheran School); Amanda Tallaksen (age 15, J.P. Taravella HS); and Jenna Tighe (age 17, McArthur HS).
