Girl Scouts elects two new members to local Board of Directors

     Oakland Park, FL --- The Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. recently named Deborah Beck and Kim Stone to the Board of Directors on March 14 at their annual meeting held at their headquarters in Oakland Park. Both will serve as Members-At-Large. The Board of Directors is made up of 25 elected community-minded individuals who serve as the governing body of the local organization.
     
     Beck was the Vice-Mayor for the City of Parkland. In that capacity, she was responsible for the City’s Strategic Planning, Planning & Zoning approvals, as well as her service on the Community Appearance Board. Previously, Beck was the Owner of Deborah Alan Beck Interiors in Parkland, and worked as a designer at The Dolan Partnership in Fort Lauderdale. She has served on the Broward County League of Cities, Board of Directors from 2004 – 2006; she Chaired the Education Committee from 2005 – 2006; and was a member of the Growth Management & Environment Committees.
     
     Stone is the Director of Alumni Relations at Nova Southeastern University. Currently, she designs and implements programs and activities for alumni and the university as well as marketing to new graduates. Previously, Stone was Coordinator of Employer Relations for Career Services at NSU. Stone holds her Mater’s Degree in International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. She is a member Leadership Broward, Class XXV and a volunteer with Big Brother/Big Sister.
