Girl Scouts form troop for formerly homeless girls at Broward Partnership for the Homeless
WHO:
Girl Scouts of Broward County partners with the Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc.
WHAT:
The Girl Scouts of Broward County is providing a new troop program to formerly homeless girls, ages 5 to 12. Members of the new troop, comprised of 14 girls, reside in multiple Broward County shelters, including BPHI’s Family Dormitory, The Salvation Army, Covenant House, Providence Place and Susan B. Anthony.
These girls have found a way to connect to each other through Girl Scouting while experiencing the stability that comes with being a part of a positive group like the Girl Scouts. Finding this connection and stability is particularly important to girls who have experienced homelessness.

Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. is committed to reducing homelessness by promoting independence and self worth through advocacy, housing and comprehensive services. It operates the Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center in Fort Lauderdale and Inverrary Station in Lauderhill.
