The Cookies are Coming! Oakland Park, FL --- The Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. (GSBC) is proud to launch its 2002 Cookie Product Sale Activity, Thursday, January 17, 2002 – Tuesday, February 5, 2002.
The eight Girl Scout Cookie varieties include: Thin Mints (wafer cookies made with natural peppermint and covered with a chocolaty coating), Do-Si-Dos (oatmeal peanut butter crèmes), Samoas® (vanilla cookies covered with caramel, rolled in coconut and striped with a rich chocolaty coating), Tagalongs® (peanut butter patties), Trefoils (shortbread cookies), Aloha Chips™ (crunchy macadamia nuts and creamy white fudge chips)…and our two new cookies debuting in 2002… Ole Ole – the Girl Scout’s second ethic offering – a reduced-fat, bite-sized vanilla cookie with pecan chips, coconut and covered in powered sugar and the All Abouts a shortbread cookie with a series of Girl Scout messages embossed on the top, commemorating the organizations’ 90th anniversary (which is in 2002) with a rich fudge coating on the bottom.
The Broward County Cookie Product Sale Activity is a valuable Girl Scout program, one that teaches many important life skills. The experience Girl Scouts gain by participating helps them develop self-esteem, and empowers them to be responsible adults who are resourceful, productive and strong. Program skills include: teamwork, planning and goal setting, decision-making, financial management, and positive communication skills.
Girl Scout Cookies sell for $3.00 per box. Proceeds from the Cookie Product Sale Activity stay within the Broward community, helping to provide ongoing troop/group funding, programs, council-sponsored activities, camping, and support for training our adult volunteers.
