Join us during Spring Break, on March 31st – April 2nd at Camp Telogia from 9am- 3pm each day. The cost is $30 per girl. Please the registaion flyer (on this site) for additional information. Contact Calandra Hickson at ext. 214 to reserve your “space” for this intergalactic adventure! START COLLECTING for our 6th Annual “Feeding Broward Together” Food Drive! Did you know that we collected 30,000 pounds of food? That makes OUR food drive the largest single drive in this county! Now is the time to plan your troop’s food drive at your local church/synagogue, school, neighborhood, etc. for January and February. Because our event will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008, right here at the GSLEC, from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. This is a terrific way to serve the community by helping several local Food Banks stock their pantries and feed the hungry on the Girl Scouts national 96th Birthday. Our goal this year is to collect 35,000 pounds. Each girl participant will receive a participation patch. This requires pre-registration and bringing your donation of food to the GSLEC on March 8. We will award prizes to the First, Second, and Third Place troops who donate the heaviest amounts of food. Volunteers (especially men) are needed to help with various jobs on the day of the event including heavy-lifting and traffic control. This event is free! Adult volunteers who can help should contact Precious Gordon at 954-739-7660, ext. 243. Weekly Readers? Are you a magazine reader? We are seeking very gently read magazines for an upcoming girl program. Desired magazines include: Fashion (Cosmopolitan, Vogue, In Style, Elle, etc.), Fitness (Shape, Self, etc.), Hobbies (Golf Digest, “O,” Crafts, Cooking, etc.), Pop Culture/ Entertainment (People, Us Weekly, OK!, etc.), and Teen Titles (Teen Vogue, Seventeen, Cosmo-Girl, Word Up, etc.). Bring donations in a bag or box (not loose) to the GSLEC Attn: Kandi Osman, by March 31. Brownies Have A Big Heart!
