Girl Scouts Get On the Green
Oakland Park, FL --- The Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. (GSBC) will host their fourth annual adult golf tournament on Saturday, June 7, 2003 – aptly titled: “On the Green for Girl Scouts.” The event will be held at the Jacaranda Golf Club, in Plantation, and begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
“On the Green for Girl Scouts” offers players a morning round of 18-holes with complimentary beverages on the course, followed by a luncheon, awards ceremony, raffle prize drawing, and silent auction.
Players will also have the opportunity to meet PGA Pro, Eric Booker. Mr. Booker joins the Girl Scout event for a second consecutive year and will lend additional support with the original “Buy Eric’s Drive.” This opportunity offers players to have Mr. Booker tee off on a difficult and intimidating par 5 over water (for a small donation). It’s a fun way or all of the guests to play with a pro!
Golf contests will include Top Team Score, Closest to the Pin (men & women), Longest Drive (men & women), and a Hole-in-One Challenge sponsored by Holman Lincoln Mercury of Hollywood – giving golfers a chance to win a 2003 Lincoln.
Cost to play is $90 per player and $350 per foursome. Registration includes green fees; cart rental, lunch and a golfer’s goodie bag. All proceeds will benefit the Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. and the 9,000 girls and 4,500 adult volunteers it serves.
Sponsorship packages are available! To register to play “On the Green for Girl Scouts”, or for more event information, contact Lori Sullivan, (954) 739-7660; # 219. ###
