Girl Scouts Host Fifth Annual Golf Tournament on June 5

Oakland Park, FL --- The Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. (GSBC) will host their fifth annual adult golf tournament on Saturday, June 5, 2004 – aptly titled: “On the Green for Girl Scouts.” All proceeds directly support the Girl Scouts of Broward County and will be held at the Jacaranda Golf Club, in Plantation, shotgun start at 8 a.m.

“On the Green for Girl Scouts” offers players a morning round of 18-holes with complimentary beverages on the course, followed by a luncheon, awards ceremony, raffle prize drawing, and silent auction. Cost to play is $110 per player and $400 per foursome. Registration includes green fees; cart rental, lunch and a golfer’s goodie bag (includes insulated cooler and golf shirt).

Golf contests will include Top Team Score, Closest to the Pin (men & women), Longest Drive (men & women), and a Hole-in-One Challenge sponsored by Holman Lincoln Mercury of Hollywood – giving golfers a chance to win a 2004 Lincoln LS.

Sponsorship packages are available from $100 for Hole Sponsorship up to $3,000 to underwrite the cost of the luncheon. To register to play in the tournament or for more event information, contact Nancy Hart, (954) 739-7660, ext. 225 or email: nhart@browardgirlscouts.org.

The Girl Scouts of Broward County was founded in 1951 and today serves more than 9,000 girls and 4,500 adult volunteers in our community. The purpose of Girl Scouting is to inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens. Girl Scouting seeks to accomplish this by providing girls the opportunity to develop their potential and have fun with their peers in a supportive, all-girl setting.
