     Broward Girl Scouts Will Host County Wide ‘Round-Up Night’ On September 8
     
     Oakland Park, FL --- The Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. will host its annual countywide “Round-Up Night” on Thursday, September 8, 2005. “Round-Ups” are information sessions and registration sites where parents (and guardians) can bring their girls to meet volunteers and receive information about today’s exciting Girl Scout program. “Round-Ups” will be held from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in more than 50 Broward’s public schools on September 8.
     
     “Girl Scouting has something to offer every school-age girl in Broward County,” said Chief Executive Officer Leslie Roth, “We have dozens of new programs and adventure opportunities to share with them. We have a big goal this coming year to attract 1,000 new girls to Girl Scouting. We’re ready to show parents what we have their girls – our ‘Round-Up’ night is just the beginning of any life changing experience.”
     
     Girl Scout adult volunteers will be on hand at each “Round-Up” location to answer questions about the programs and organization as well as how girls, led by caring adults, are spending time together, learning new things, and have fun. A parent or guardian must accompany girls.
     
     The Girl Scouts of Broward County has created a special website for parents, or other family members, to visit in order to find a “Round-Up” location in their area or at their child’s school: www.browardgirlscouts.org/round-up. Additional locations and dates have been added (to the public school sites on Sept. 8) in September, throughout the county to make every attempt to reach girls who want to join Girl Scouting and new adult volunteers.
     
     Girl Scouts of Broward County, Inc. serves more than 8,900 girls and 4,500 adult volunteers. “Round-Up Night” is presented in pound partnership with our community supporter the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
