Oakland Park, FL --- Girl Scouting means many things in our community: youth leadership, adult volunteerism, community service – to name a few. Above all, we are a membership organization open to all girls ages 5-17. Annually, at the beginning of every school year we go out into our local schools to host our largest single recruitment effort of the year, called “Round-Up.”

Girl Scouts of Broward County will host its annual countywide “Round-Up” night on Thursday, September 6. Girl Scout “Round-Ups” are registration sites where parents (and guardians) can bring their girls to meet local volunteers and receive information, ask questions and register to be a member. Girl Scout “Round-Ups” will be held from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in 50 Broward public schools on September 6.

“We are passionately dedicated to offering Girl Scouts to every single school-age girl in Broward County,” said Chief Executive Officer Leslie Roth. “Girl Scouts is evolving and has even more innovative programs just for girls. We can’t wait to get into the schools and meet families where they are to make Girl Scouting as accessible as possible.”

Girl Scouts of Broward County has created a special website for parents to visit in order to find a September 6 “Round-Up” location in their area or at their child’s school: www.browardgirlscouts.org/round-up. In addition to these school “Round-Up” locations, we have also added other locations (and alternate dates) to make every effort to reach girls, and new adult volunteers, who want to join Girl Scouting.

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Locally, Girl Scouts of Broward County serves more than 8,000 girls and 4,000 adult volunteers annually. For more information about the Girl Scouts of Broward County, including adult volunteering opportunities and girl registration, contact Lori Ebinger Sullivan, Vice President of Marketing at 954-739-7660; ext. 219 or lsullivan@browardgirlscouts.org – or visit www.browardgirlscouts.org/round-up.
